Whistle while you work!
Being the inveterate nerds that we are, we're huge fans of games like Spelunky, Motherlode and Minecraft. Something about tunneling down into the darkness to find your fortune at the mercy of mother nature always appealed to us, so in 2016 we designed Mined Out! - a pocket-sized game in the vein of Scott Almes' Tiny Epic series that plummeted players into the gem-filled depths of a dangerous cavern.
AS ABOVE, SO BELOW
Starting from a single tile, players explore their own mine, collecting gems as they go. Each gem square is an unlimited seam of that colour gem - but there's a catch. Mining for gems without building supports first will save time, but will slowly erode the cave and cause disastrous cave-ins - blocking you out from areas of your mine!
Navigate your mine, building supports, collecting gems, and crafting the all important upgrades (coffee, ladder, shovel and mine cart) that will unlock new abilities and help you win the game!
A NEW MINE EVERY TIME
Inspired by our favourite mining games, Mined Out uses a simple system of square cards to permeate billions of unique mines. It's not completely random, however - delving deeper into the mine is more likely to yield more valuable gems, even if the threat of being caved in rises with it!
HIGH QUALITY PIECES
On our Kickstarter for Mined Out, we unlocked a myriad of stretch goals for everything from screen printed wooden pieces to extra score reference cards, linen cards and UV spot on the box. These upgrades are for every copy, so even the ones available now will come with that Kickstarter stretch goal bling!
